How To Write An Article Posthaste April 14, 2009
Today, I want to talk a little bit about how writing articles quickly can be done. It’s beneficial when your tasks can be simplified, because then you won’t procrastinate and you’ll get the job done! Procrastination is a dream killer!
Oftentimes the thought of writing 450 or 500 words about a subject is overwhelming to the average person. You see, when a task seems onerous to someone, they aren’t likely to do it. In fact, that’s where a lot of newbie Internet Marketers fail. They find a task too overpowering and they give up. Or they find something else to do, and never really get back to the task at hand. Article writing for the purpose of article marketing is one of those tasks, unfortuantely, for a lot of would-be writers. It seems impossible to write consistently. But having unique, QUALITY content for your readers is of utmost importance if you truly want to succeed!
It is also true that some folks don’t think they know WHAT to write ABOUT. Picking topics is actually not so difficult. It’s the research that might be involved that could put someone off. That’s why I recommend you write what you know about until you feel comfortable enough with your writing to do research on your less well understood topics.
My goal, then, today, is to help you make the task of writing articles washing the cat.
1. The first thing that should be accomplished when starting a writing project is to clear the decks. Get rid of distractions, turn off your phone, DON’T read your email. Schedule time for that later. Get yourself into a writing mindset, whatever that might mean to you—fresh cup of coffee, sharpened pencils (it works for some folks, evn though they’re typing everything!). Know yourself well enough to know what “gets you in the mood.”
2. Knowing that most articles are around 450 words, the second thing you need to do is make an outline. Most articles follow a formula and once you have the formula in place, writing will be infinitely easier. Here’s the formula:
1. Introduction.
2. State the problem
3. FIX the problem
4. Summarize what you just said.
5. Add your resource box.
3. Write, following the formula. Once you’ve written the bare bones article, do a word count. Like as not, you will probably discover it is too brief. That’s okay! That’s when you go back and start expounding on the points in each formula section. Reread your paragraphs and think about how else to say to make the point clearer for your readers.
It REALLY is just as simple as that! After you’ve read this post, go back over it and see if you can identify those 5 formula points in this article. First, I introduced the topic by stating what my goal is. Then, I mentioned what the problem is: procrastination and overwhelm. Next, I gave a simple solution to organizing the writing project.
And now I’m summarizing. You see, here at ArticleWritingNews.com ArticleWritingNews.com, I believe in making the “difficult” as easy as possible for my readers. That’s my ultimate goal. And no, I didn’t forget the last formula point. Notice how I seamlessly inserted a mention of my website in this paragraph?
Adapting PLR content is just as easy using these steps and perhaps an article rewriterarticle rewriter.
Happy writing!
